Week 11

Hello out there,
on Tuesday I did my first presentation about Germany together with two other german girls. There were also a girl from Ukraine and one from Turkmenistan so we devided the about 35 seniors into 3 groups and did our presentations. It was pretty awesome and the people were really interested. On Friday we had no school and my friends invited me to carve pumpkins with them and it was a fantastic afternoon. On Saturday my hostdad took me super spontaneously to the District Cross Country meet of the Lamar Tigers and they won the Districts (*proud*). In the evening I went to a spook house called "Twisted Forest" together with my friends. We had to wait about over 2.5 hours till we finally got in and it was awesome! Although I wasn´t really scared I had a lot of fun with laughing at my friends when they got scared(sorry :)).  But the costumes of the actors and the whole atmosphere were definitely worth the entry-fee. At about 1am we were back here in Lamar.
Today I´m doing nothing we are just watching TV, cleaning and prepare for the next week so yes..
I love you all and I miss all of you in Germany!!

Week 10

Hello out there,
this week was quite stressful for me but it was awesome as well.
So during school nothing really happened. I had quite a lot tests and a bunch of homework but nothing special. On Tuesday I asked if I could change from Spanish I to Spanish II because it was too easy for me and was bored and in the afternoon I went to the lake in Lamar with Alecia. On Wednesday I got the approval for that and on Thursday I had my new schedule for the first day. Now I have American Government in 3rd and Spanish in 4th hour so just the other way round and not really a big deal.
On Thursday evening I went on the capitol trip with other exchange students, my hostmum and my hostsister. First we ate at TACO PALACE and then we started our nearly 4 hour drive to Jefferson City. As we arrived at the hotel we went to the swimming pool and then we just went to bed because it was already late. On Friday morning we had breakfast and met a whole bunch of other exchange students from different parts of Missouri. Then we went to the capitol, the supreme court and walked around in the city. After we had lunch we went up to the dome of the capitol building and the view was amazing. Right after we went to a prison (that is closed) and had a tour there and it was really interesting. As we left there we ate ice cream and headed our way back and just stopped for a Outlet Mall and for having dinner. We were back home at about midnight but it was just a fantastic day.
On Saturday morning I volunteered at the Jasper concession stand again and after that my hostdad and  I went to the birthday party of his nephew. We drove to my hostmoms family in Arkansas and stayed the night there. Today we drove back home and I have to study for next week.

Week 9

Hey guys,
I didn´t managed to write a post yesterday because I seriously just forgot about it. So better late than never.. my week.
First of all nothing really special happened during school this week. I had a few tests and on Monday we got our Senior stuff ordered.
On Wednesday I helped a friend of my hostmom preparing the football team meal for Thursday and on the next day we cooked and served it to them.
On Friday evening was Senior Night for football. So my hostparents and I went there and we had to line up before the game. Then our names and our sport we did got called out and everyone got a flower. After that my hostdad stayed and watched the game with me and it was pretty cool. It´s only my second game so I really enjoyed it. It was an awesome night for me and I´m so grateful that I could made this experience.
On Saturday we were supposed to have a 4 hour Show-Choir pratice for studying the choreography but our choreographer got sick so we just went through the songs again and left after an hour. In the afternoon I went to Walmart with some friends of mine and afterwards we ate at Sonic and went to the park. When I got home I watched both parts of Camp Rock with my hostsister and then we went to bed.
On Sunday I did my homework and studied and we watched Netflix again (this time High School Musical and Lemonade Mouth)...
So that´s pretty much my last week and today I got my tennis pictures that we took three weeks ago.

Week 8

Hello guys,
this week was pretty amazing for me so I really happy about sharing this with you.
On Monday I had a history test and in the evening I went to the workout at the BCSC.
On Tuesday we had a senior meeting in the library with a person from Jostens, the company who provides a lot of schools with graduation stuff. At the end we got an order form that we need to turn in on Monday. In the evening I went to the workout again and this time my arms hurt for the rest of the week :).
On Wednesday I a test in Language Arts and in Marketing and in the afternoon I started tutoring a girl in Algebra, which counts as volunteer hours.
On Thursday I had another Quiz and in the evening I had Show Choir practice again. Afterwards I skyped with another exchange student and it was pretty cool to talk to her.
On Friday we had no school because the teachers had a meeting so I worked a bit on my upcoming presentation  and watched Netflix. As my hostmom and hostsister came home we picked up a friend of my hostmum and we drove to Kansas City. As we arrived we checked in to the hotel and went downtown to the Plaza. There we ate at the Cheesecake Factory and it was soo good. Afterwards we went to the cinema and watched "Miss Peregrins Home for Peculiar Children". I have to say I expected more from the movie but it was still pretty good. As we left it was already 00:30 am but we called the son of my hostmom's friend so that I could get a photo with him because he is a police officer. At 2am we finally returned to the hotel.
In the next morning we first picked up coupons and then my hostmom and her friend went to plenty of Dollar Generals in Kansas City, Independence and other places before we went back to Lamar to drop her off. Then we went to Joplin for doing some shopping and we ate at Applebee's which was delicious. We arrived at home at about midnight and the next morning I was pretty tired.
On Sunday I skyped with my mom and my brothers and then we went to church. After that we went really spontaneous  to Springfield and met my area rep and his family. We ate at Panera, went to an escape room and to Cold Stones together. My hostfamily took me downtown to pick up some donuts and then we went to the cinema to see "Mastermind". This movie was pretty funny but not really good though.
After that we drove home and just got our stuff together for tomorrow.

Week 7

Hello guys,
this week was again just a normal week without something too special happening.
On Monday I started to go to the Barton County Strength Club (BCSC) which is kind of a CrossFit Studio. The workout was pretty hard so my thighs hurt for the whole week.
On Tuesday we started to hold our presentations in Spanish about a spanish speaking country (I had Belize) and we had a test in American Government where I got an A and in the evening I went to the workout again but couldn´t really do something because my legs hurt so bad and they were kind of locked.
On Wednesday all Juniors were gone for a college visit so nearly all students of my Language Arts and Government class were gone and we could just stay in the library. We talked and did some of our homework.
On Thursday right after school we did tennis pictures and it took us a while. In the evening I went to the Show Choir practice but because not many people showed up we could go home pretty soon.
On Friday evening I went to the park in Lamar with some of my friends and we just talked and hung out for a while.
Saturday morning I went volunteering at the Concession Stand in Jasper again and in the evening me and my hostdad went to a birthday bonfire of another exchange student living near Jasper.
Today my hostfamily and I went to church and afterwards they took me to Pittsburg (Kansas) for lunch. We had to do some things and after we got home I studied for my American History test tomorrow.
